Workshop

In-person papercutting workshops

A guided practical session for schools, community groups, cultural organisations, galleries, and private groups. Participants learn the foundations of paper cutting through a prepared template and leave with a finished artwork.

Artist Talk

Online artist talks

A Zoom-based artist talk for audiences who want to understand Tusif Ahmad’s paper-cutting practice, creative process, Islamic art references, and selected artworks.

Planning

How the workshop works

Workshops are practical, accessible, and designed around the needs of the host group. Organisers can arrange a single session or a wider programme for multiple age groups.

Suggested programme groups

  • Children aged 8 to 15
  • Young adults aged 16 to 35
  • Adults aged 36 to 65
  • Seniors aged 65 and over
  • Art teachers and school educators

Templates

Printed paper-cutting templates are provided for in-person workshops. For organiser-led printing, templates can be supplied as a PDF for A4 colour paper.

Tools

Organisers provide craft knives, replacement blades, cutting mats, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and A4/A3 colour paper.

Materials

Material cost is usually around AUD 35 to 40 per participant, depending on the tools and paper selected.

Fee guide

The in-person workshop rate is AUD 50 per hour. A four-hour workshop plus setup and pack-down is typically AUD 250, excluding transport and travel expenses.

Travel

For interstate or international invitations, transport and accommodation are arranged with the organiser.

Payment

Payment details are shared after the workshop is confirmed. Payment is required before the workshop begins.
