Story
This third artwork from Surah Ar-Rahman (Ayat 29–45) shifts the series from signs of harmony to the gravity of reckoning, where cosmic collapse and moral exposure unfold together. The artist frames the scene as a universe under rupture—suggesting a sky torn open and light being consumed—while the surface is densely bound by circular calligraphy, echoing the inescapability of Divine decree. At the emotional centre sits a watchful eye with a single tear, a quiet symbol of nadāmat (remorse), where guilt is acknowledged before any questioning, and deeds become their own testimony. Figures are kept deliberately abstract—thorned, cactus-like “mujrimūn,” bound and drawn upward—so that spiritual states are shown without portraiture, emphasising humiliation, restraint, and inner dryness. Boiling waters, rising flames, and the motif of the recorded book intensify the atmosphere of accountability, yet the work also retains a final human posture: hands raised in prayer beneath the name of Allah, reminding the viewer that need, dependence, and return remain central even at the edge of judgment.
