Story

This artwork is a symbolic meditation on the world into which the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came and the message he brought. At its heart, the mountain marks the sacred cave of Hira, where the first revelation of the Qur'an descended and the light of guidance began to spread. A rose, famed for its beauty and fragrance, represents the Prophet (PBUH) - the most perfect flower of creation. The clear, straight path shows the way of Islam and recalls the route he would take towards Jabal al-Nur. Birds in flight suggest the growing Ummah, while darker birds hint at the mushrikeen of that time who chose disbelief. The goats reflect the simplicity and humility of his early life. Pillars within the composition stand for firm belief in the Oneness of God and in the finality of Muhammad's (PBUH) prophethood, and the surrounding mountains speak of the enduring strength and resilience of Islam. The inclusion of the Prophet's (PBUH) seal quietly affirms his divinely granted authority as the final Messenger of God. In this first artwork, I tried to evoke the environment into which Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born and first opened his blessed eyes. Creating it was challenging, as I wished to honour his presence without depicting him, staying within the limits of our tradition.
